What are your future goals?
We'd like to produce more food for k-2 student consumption to promote nutrition, science education, and community building goals. We also want to utilize and enhance the existing school ground to promote the forest/marsh habitat, nature education and outdoor activity. The garden coordinators at each of our schools are meeting regularly to build connections, share resources and identify curriculum connections and activities.
What is your most significant need?
Long term parent/teacher/community support as our population changes every 3 years in k-2 schools. I'd like to empower more staff to use and care for the garden and take ownership in it. Identifying sources of funding to get kids to farms for field trips when transportation budgets are frozen.
Any other comments?
