During this challenging time of unknowns, Maine School Garden Network has decided to take CDC recommendations seriously and do our best to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We have decided to cancel Maine School Garden Day for 2020. As our biggest (and most favorite) event of the year, we do not make this decision lightly and appreciate your understanding. In the months ahead we will be working to provide alternative ways for school gardeners to stay connected and will be sure to update our network as these develop.
If you had already registered for Maine School Garden Day (which was scheduled for May 2, 2020), we will be issuing a full refund via the Eventbrite platform with which you registered.
Please save the date for next year’s Maine School Garden Day: May 1, 2021.
We’ll be hosting in the same location, Reeds Brook Middle School in Hampden.
ABOUT MAINE SCHOOL GARDEN DAY
For this event, Maine School Garden Network hosts a full day of workshops and networking for school garden enthusiasts. Our next conference will be brought to you by a team led by Maine Agriculture in the Classroom, the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, and RSU22. Whether you’re dreaming of starting an educational garden or working on developing an existing program… this day is for you!
Sessions include best practices for school gardens, hands-on demonstrations, and a tour of a thriving garden program. Hear stories told by garden programs from across the state and connect with supporting organizations to build your knowledge and resources in time for this upcoming gardening season!
Check back for more info in late 2020 about our event for Spring 2021.
